Heeeeeello

I'm at :iconalienweirdo:'s right now, looking through aaaaaaaaaall the watchmen fanart.

I saw watchmen in the bookstore two years ago and was toying with reading it but never did. Then in summer '08 ~Alienweirdo recommended watchmen to me but I was still unsure - I'm not really one for reading comic books unless they're online ones, or the traditional British strips like Beano, Dandy, and Viz.

But yeah, about a week or so ago I started reading watchmen to prepare for seeing the film this saturday (14th).

And

Wow

A part of me really regrets not reading it sooner, it is brilliant, I just loved the pace and the intertwining of stories; I wasn't even trying to figure out who the killer was, I was just enjoying it too much.

And the film adaptation - it worked for me, I especially liked the soundtrack as I feel it kept the characters human by not giving them their own theme tunes - this story didn't need a dramatic soundtrack. I was unsure of the First Silk Specter at first - I felt she was far too hammy and just the way her scenes were done weren't believable for me. But someone pointed out to me the fact that she was in the original group, and it was so camp and dramatic to begin with, I guess her retired thespian attitude suits. I guess it also makes the grouping of Laurie's parents more believable, like the initial ...ummm...offense was a misunderstanding <_< >_> <_<

And yes, it is a disappointment that they left out the giant squid, but you know what? I think the ending used in the film better justifies Dr Manhattans Departure

I still prefer the book, but I know if they had put the ENTIRE book in the film, people would be taking like, 3 toilet breaks per chapter.

and I am getting my hands on as much merchandise as my space and funds (and dignity) can handle.

>_< I want a Bubastis!!!

Yeah, but do you know what this means? NewDoctor will have to meet Capt. Jack, and we're gonna get a whole new round of omnisexuality by HornyJack! Methinks they should have made a HandClone for him, too XP
